4D cinema is new attraction at Drayton Manor

A SENSATIONAL 4D cinema experience will be the new attraction at a Midland theme park.

The revelation of the whopping £1 million investment on a new “effects theatre” for 2009 was made by bosses at Drayton Manor Park and Zoo, near Tamworth.

Using the latest technology and special effects lighting, the attraction will allow audiences to watch a movie in 3D while sitting in specially designed simulation chairs that will react to scenes in the film.

The 4D element will see chairs move up and down, vibrate, release sprays of water, bursts of air, bubbles and even various smells.

Work on creating the 152-seat theatre will start later in the New Year ahead of the park’s opening on March 21 and will be located in the Soundstage Theatre next to the park’s Central Plaza.
